& The Dead Bodies of Christmas Trees

Wrinkled tinsel losing shine,
Forgotten droopy bows mix with City Grime
Trampled by preoccupied passersby;;;
Echoes of smiles&excitement
The anticipation of surprise,
A chilly morning,
The warmth of family,
The comfort of food,
The Dead Bodies of Christmas Trees
Laying in a city street,
Nature's martyrs,
sprawled piled dismembered
ONCE
held in high esteem,
now share bed with all things exiled,
USED UP,
old,
broken,
empty,
neglected,
DIRTY,
Once comforted by rich earth's soil
Now scrape green with rough grey,
Old headlines,
used tissues & the stuff that makes noses wrinkle from sour dog piss &
mildewed magazines
Tree O Tree,
a breath of Fresh Green in an Ocean of Concrete,
